The horrible conditions at the commercial chicken farms makes me think about growing my own small flock of free range birds once again like I'm done in the past, mainly for their fresh eggs.

I too miss having chickens. An egg that was hatched within a day or two ago, from a chicken that ate natural food and lives a good life--that's good eating.
